Each resource should have minifierRef set

Dec 20, 2009 at 2:10 AM

I am combining several resources together.

In some cases, the resources are already minified.  So, on these I would like to set minifierRef="off" and they would just be combined.

As an example - the first 2 scripts would be minified, combined with the raw version of the 3rd script and served up!

    <resourceSet name="siteJs" type="js" minifierRef="msajax" version="1">
        <resource path="~/scripts/hoverIntent.js" />
        <resource path="~/scripts/superfish.js" />
        <resource path="~/scripts/jquery.tools.min.js" minifierRef="off" />
    </resourceSet>

A pretty close feature was requested once (http://combres.codeplex.com/WorkItem/View.aspx?WorkItemId=5485) but I didn't think it should be implemented because it makes the workflow less efficient (see that post for discussion).  But I suppose it's worth allowing developers to choose whether they want per resource-set minification or per resource minification (the latter is required if developers specify a custom minifierRef for a specific resource).  I add a tracking ticket here: http://combres.codeplex.com/WorkItem/View.aspx?WorkItemId=5628.

Fixed in http://combres.codeplex.com/SourceControl/changeset/view/32791.  See comment for that change set in http://combres.codeplex.com/SourceControl/list/changesets or code documentation of DefaultProcessingWorkflow to be aware of the breaking changes.
